Preparing for SATs

Preparing For SATs

In both Year 2 and Year 6 children complete end of Year tests to show the progress they have made against the National expectation. In Year 2 these tests are informal and the teacher makes their judgement on the child’s attainment based on the tests and the work they have completed all year.

In year 6 the teachers make a teacher assessment which is reported but the children also complete a national test. These tests results are used by secondary schools for setting. It is imperative the children get the best result they can.

Throughout the year the children will complete practice tests and in Year 6 we provide revision resources to aid homework.

If a child is absent during test week no result is recorded for the child’s key stage test, where possible we accommodate all children in taking the test.
