Well-Being

At Canterbury Cross Primary School, we aim to promote and maintain positive mental health and wellbeing for everyone in our school family (the children, staff, parents and carers). We know children’s mental health can affect their confidence and happiness and have an impact on their behaviour and outcomes.

Our role, in school, is to equip children, so they are able to manage their emotions and feelings during times of change and stress. It is important, to us, that the school is an open and safe environment for everyone.

We want all our pupils to flourish,  and aim to do so by focusing on the following protective factors:

  • All children feel safe and valued at Canterbury Cross Primary.

  • They have a sense of belonging and develop as individuals.

  • Children can talk openly with trusted adults about their concerns, without feeling embarrassed or being judged.

  • Mental health and wellbeing is promoted across school and support is available for everyone who needs it.
